A ‘Pale Ale’ is just that, pale in colour from the lightly roasted brewing malts used, they tend to be hop forward but with plenty of evidence of biscuit flavours derived from the malt. Well balanced is often a term used to describe this mix. The Abv is usually fairly low making this style extremely quaffable – Often described as a summer drink. India Pale Ales however are generally much more hop dominant and usually of a higher ABV yet with a similar pale appearance.
